Puukuidun potentiaalit ovat mielettömät ja useat projektit etsivät käyttöä tälle uusiutuvalle raakamateriaalille, kertoo 2050 Roadmap. Ruotsissa on kehitetty ainutlaatuista ja ekotehokasta tekstiiliä puukuidusta, nimeltään CelluNova. Tekstiili muistuttaa silkkiä tai puuvillaa, riippuen onko se kudottu vai neulottu. Jotta me voisimme pukeutua viiden vuoden kuluttua puutekstiiliin, tuotetta kehitellään yhteistyössä eri tutkimuslaitosten, sellu- ja paperiteollisuuden ja vaatetus- ja tekstiiliteollisuuden kanssa. Paperinkysynnän romahdettua on eri teollisuudenaloilla yhteinen tarve edistää innovatiivista materiaalinkehitystä. Jäämme odottamaan lisää mielenkiintoisia tuotteita aiheen tiimoilta.
In the atmosphere of last post, more about wood as a material. The potentials of wood fiber are endless and several projects are to find new uses for this renewable raw material, according to 2050 Roadmap. CelluNova, a unique and eco-efficient woodfiber textile was developed in Sweden. The textile is like silk or cotton, depending on whether it is knitted or weaved. Pulp- and paper industry, several research institutes and clothing- and textile industry are unified in the research, so that we might cloth ourselves with wood within five years timeframe. Since the demand for paper is going down, there is severe need for innovative use of wood. We look forward to more of this type of exciting developments.
