Roofgardening on jo tuttu ilmiö suurkaupungeissa, missä viljelypinta-alaa vallataan asuinrakennuksien katoilta, saaden aikaiseksi viihtyisämpiä kaupunkeja, ja kasvien luonnostaan toimiessa suodattimina puhtaammalle ilmalle. Tästä ajatuksesta syntyi mainostoimisto TBWA Grow Up projekti, jossa toimiston kattotoimisto muutetaan upeaksi yrtti-, vihannes- ja villikukkapuutarhaksi. Voit seurata puutarhan edistymistä tästä. Erityisesti olemme innoissamme villikukka ajatuksesta, täytyyhän meidän pitää huolta pölyttäjistä, perhosista, kimalaisista ja muista! Tässä muutama esimerkki innoittavasta ja ajatuksiaherättävästä viherdesignista. Gaëlle Villedary ‘Tapis Rouge!’ ruohomatto installaatio Jauiacin kaupungissa, Ranskassa. Teoksen tarkoitus on uudelleen yhdistää luonto ja asukkaat. Cross Hatchling ‘Moss Cross’, jossa ristin muoto viittaa sammalen on parantaviin ominaisuuksiin. Sammalta käytettiin mm. haavojen hoitamiseen Toisessa Maailmansodassa. The Mobile Garden. Green Concrete This is paper.

Roofgardening is a familiar phenomenon, to utilize unorthodox surface area for growing plants in the cities. Thus more pleasant habitat to live in, combined with pure air as the plants act as air purifiers. From this idea sprung idea for advertising agency TBWA Grow Up project, to turn their office roof balcony into a wonderful garden with herbs, vegetables and wildflowers. You can follow the process here. Especially the wildflowers makes us tick, as we need to take care of the pollinators, butterflies, bumble-bees and such. Few more inspiring and thought provoking design.  Gaëlle Villedary ‘Tapis Rouge!’ grasscarpet installation in Jauiac, France. Idea is to reconnect the villagers with nature. Cross Hatchling ‘Moss Cross’, where the form of cross refers to moss’s healing properties. Moss was used treating wounds during World War II.  The Mobile Garden. Green Concrete by This is paper.
