Harri Koskinen on suunnittellut suomalaiselle kaiutinvalmistajalle Genelecille UPM:n uusiutuvasta selluloosakuitumateriaalista ForMista kaiuttimet. Oli usean vuoden prosessi löytää soveltuvat materiaali joka täytti Genelecin laadulliset ja ympäristöystävälliset kriteerit. ForMi materiaalilla on loistavat akustiset ominaisuudet, tuotannollisesti se on helppo työstää eikä tarvitse jälkikäsittelyä joka tehostaa tuotantoa ja on kestävän kehityksen mukaista. Biokomposiittimateriaalilla voidaan korvata jopa 50% öljypohjaisista muoveista puupohjaisella kuidulla. Genelec tuo markkinoille kaksi M sarjan (Music Creation) kaiutinta jotka on valmistettu biokomposiittimateriaalista.
Designer Harri Koskinen has designed speakers out of renewable cellulosefiber material for finnish speaker manufacturer Genelec. ‘The primary focus in developing the new M Series was to proceed with a green mindset without sacrificing the accuracy and reliability for which Genelec has been known for the past 35 years, while offering something new and innovative for project studio customers’ a quote from Genelec. It took several years to find suitable material that fit to Genelec quality and sustainable development criterias. UPM ForMi material has excellent acoustic quality, it is easy to mold and does not require surface treatment – making it very efficient and environmentally friendly. Use of biocompositematerial can replace up to 50% oil-based plastics with wood-based fibers. Genelec will produce two M series (Music Creation) speakers made out this biocomposite material.
