OMUUS visited an exposition in Barcelona, Spain called Manantial, that presented ceramic work by Martín Azúa. “Ceramics interested me in its universal and ancestral character, but also because of the proximity of ceramic processes and natural phenomena technique: earth, water and fire interact in the same way they do in nature but in a process controlled by man.” In these ceramic vases Martin combines different sensorial materials: branches collected in the mountains of Opakua, Alava and stones. They interact in different ways with the vases: the stones deform them with a sensual and delicate way, the branches pass through and break the structure.
